Our Mission & Values
TORTORE ET DECIBELS is dedicated to fostering artistic growth and organizing vibrant live performances. We support musical groups by providing resources, fair conditions, and a respectful environment for artists, organizers, and audiences alike.
At Tortore et Décibels, we believe that music is more than just sound—it is a cultural lifeline, a professional craft, and a communal experience. However, the bridge between a rehearsal room and a professional stage is often fraught with administrative hurdles and technical barriers.
Registered under ID W014004766 and operating within the specialized framework of APE 90.02Z (Support activities for live performance), our nonprofit organization serves as the backbone for musical talent. We don’t just “book gigs”; we build the infrastructure that allows artistry to thrive in a fair, sustainable, and professional ecosystem.
Our mission is clear: To professionalize the musical journey. Too often, independent musicians are expected to perform in conditions that lack technical rigor or basic respect. Tortore et Décibels exists to bridge that gap. We provide the management, administration, and logistical support necessary for musical groups to focus on what they do best: creating.
What We Do
Administrative Stewardship: We handle the complex “behind-the-scenes” work—from contract management to navigating the IDCC 2717 collective bargaining agreements—ensuring that every performance is legally sound and ethically managed.
Logistical Support: We provide the tools and guidance needed for groups to transition from amateur practice to professional execution.
Event Orchestration: We organize concerts and cultural manifestations that prioritize high-quality sound, safe environments, and respectful treatment of all stakeholders.
Cultural Advocacy: We promote all forms of musical expression, ensuring that diverse voices have a platform to be heard.
Our Vision: A Harmonious Industry
Our vision is a future where the “underground” or independent music scene is synonymous with professional excellence. We envision a world where:
Musicians are treated as skilled professionals, regardless of their genre or following.
Organizers have access to reliable, well-managed talent that understands the technical and cultural requirements of a successful event.
The Public enjoys immersive, high-quality cultural experiences that are safe, inclusive, and sonically superior.
By acting as a mediator and mentor, Tortore et Décibels aims to raise the standard for live music across the region, ensuring that the “decibels” we produce are always matched by the “integrity” of our operations.
Our Core Values
To achieve our mission, every decision we make—from the groups we represent to the venues we partner with—is guided by four pillars:
1. Decency and Respect
This is our primary mandate. We ensure “conditions décentes” (decent conditions). This means fair treatment for the musicians, clear communication with organizers, and a high-quality experience for the audience. Respect is the currency of our association.
2. Cultural Vitality
We do not discriminate by genre. Whether it is contemporary, traditional, or experimental, if it is an expression of musical artistry, it deserves a path to the public. We are committed to maintaining a vibrant, diverse cultural landscape.
3. Professional Integrity
Operating under the APE 90.02Z code and the IDCC 2717 convention isn’t just a legal requirement for us; it is a badge of quality. We bring technical expertise and administrative rigor to the creative world, ensuring that “support for live performance” is handled with precision.
4. Empowerment through Education
We don’t just manage; we mentor. We help groups understand their rights, their technical needs, and the administrative realities of the music industry. We empower artists to take ownership of their professional identity.
Our Impact and Services
Tortore et Décibels operates at the intersection of art and industry. Our activities are designed to create a ripple effect throughout the cultural sector.
Support for Musical Groups
We act as a launchpad. By providing management and administration, we remove the “noise” of paperwork, allowing artists to sharpen their craft. Our accompaniment includes coaching on stage presence, technical riders, and professional etiquette.
For Concert Organizers
We are a trusted partner. When an organizer works with a group managed or supported by Tortore et Décibels, they know they are getting a professional outfit. We minimize the risks associated with live events by ensuring that all administrative and technical “t’s” are crossed.
For the Community
We curate events that matter. By organizing our own manifestations and concerts, we enrich the local social fabric. These events aren’t just shows; they are gatherings that celebrate the power of live sound and human connection.
Transparency and Governance
As a registered nonprofit (Association ID: W014004766), we operate with total transparency. We believe that the trust of our members, partners, and the public is our most valuable asset.
Nonprofit Status: All our activities are reinvested into the mission of supporting musicians and promoting culture.
Regulatory Compliance: We adhere strictly to the French labor laws and collective agreements (Convention collective des entreprises techniques au service de la création et de l’événement), ensuring that every technician and artist involved in our projects is protected.
